ORS8 FISH Probe
The ORS8 FISH probe is designed to hybridize to the ORS8 gene and is primarily used for detecting amplifications and deletions associated with the gene. This probe is FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood metaphase spreads and interphase nuclei. The probe can be labeled in one of five colors. Each probe is sold in a 20 test kit (approximately 20 slides - 22x22 mm area) and includes hybridization buffer. Please note that due to design optimizations, prices are subject to change.

Gene Summary
This region represents an origin of DNA replication that was first identified in African green monkey cells. Unlike the monkey origin, which replicates early, this human sequence replicates late in S phase. This sequence recognizes and binds Ku80 protein (X-ray repair complementing defective repair in Chinese hamster cells 5) during G1 phase, which recruits topoisomerase (DNA) II beta and results in transient double-strand breaks in this region. These breaks are important for recruitment of additional proteins involved in origin activity, including origin recognition complex subunit 2, chromatin licensing and DNA replication factor 1, and cell division cycle 45.
