HYMAI FISH Probe
The HYMAI FISH probe is designed to hybridize to the HYMAI gene and is primarily used for detecting amplifications and deletions associated with the gene. This probe is FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood metaphase spreads and interphase nuclei. The probe can be labeled in one of five colors. Each probe is sold in a 20 test kit (approximately 20 slides - 22x22 mm area) and includes hybridization buffer. Please note that due to design optimizations, prices are subject to change.

Gene Summary
This gene, which encodes a non-protein coding transcript, exhibits differential DNA methylation between the two parental alleles at an adjacent CpG island, and is expressed only from the paternal allele. It is believed to be one of the causative genes for transient neonatal diabetes mellitus (TNDM), which is a rare disease characterized by intrauterine growth retardation, dehydration, and failure to thrive due to a lack of normal insulin secretion.
