DSCR FISH Probe

The DSCR FISH probe is designed to hybridize to the DSCR gene and is primarily used for detecting amplifications and deletions associated with the gene. This probe is FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood metaphase spreads and interphase nuclei. The probe can be labeled in one of five colors. Each probe is sold in a 20 test kit (approximately 20 slides - 22x22 mm area) and includes hybridization buffer. Please note that due to design optimizations, prices are subject to change.

Gene Summary

Down syndrome, also known as trisomy 21, is the most frequent form of cognitive disability caused by a microscopically demonstrable chromosomal aberration. It is caused by a third copy (trisomy) of all or a critical portion of chromosome 21. Down syndrome is characterized by physical growth delays, dysmorphic facial features, heart and gastrointestinal disorders, and mild to moderate cognitive disability. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2017]
