7B2 FISH Probe
The 7B2 FISH probe is designed to hybridize to the 7B2 gene and is primarily used for detecting amplifications and deletions associated with the gene. This probe is FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood metaphase spreads and interphase nuclei. The probe can be labeled in one of five colors. Each probe is sold in a 20 test kit (approximately 20 slides - 22x22 mm area) and includes hybridization buffer. Please note that due to design optimizations, prices are subject to change.

Gene Summary
This gene encodes a secreted chaperone protein that prevents the aggregation of other secreted proteins, including proteins that are associated with neurodegenerative and metabolic disease. The encoded protein may be best known for its role in the trafficking and activation of prohormone convertase PC2 (encoded by Gene ID: 5126). Phosphorylation of the encoded protein has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on its chaperone function. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2016]
